Shadowfax is absolutely beautiful, BUT I have to say Brego.
I love the story of how Aragorn set Brego free, and when Aragorn washed up on the river bank Brego came back. I love it because it’s a great story and it feels like they’re made for each other-like they understand and respect one another. I think the chemistry between them is beautiful.
Apparently REAL chemistry because I read somewhere that Viggo Mortensen bought the 2 horses he worked with in the film. =)
Admittedly Aragorn again, but since I’m going to have a chance to talk about why I love him later…..I’ll speak of my second favorite man Faramir.
Faramir goes against the odds when he lets Frodo and Sam go instead of taking the ring. I admire him for this because he stood up for what he believed was right even in the face of losing whatever feeble relationship he had left with his father.
I also just feel for the guy because his father prefers Boromir so much that he basically doesn’t care about Faramir at all. I think that’s pretty awful.
Also, he’s gorgeous.
If I’m being honest, Aragorn is going to be the answer to so many of these “who is your favorite___ questions” so other than Aragorn: maybe Pippin. I really do love them all, and each person brings something different to the group. It’s so unfair to make me choose.
I’m not sure if this really counts…..but….
The part where Arwen is riding with Frodo and being chased by the Nazgul and the river turns into galloping horses and literally swallows them up and wipes them out? Awesome. “If you want him…COME AND CLAIM HIM.”
Two Towers. Also coincidentally my favorite.
Probably the Green Dragon song. It’s just a really fun moment.
Anduril, The Flame of the West, forged from the shards of Narsil
Um, because Aragorn is badass, and there’s just no contest. I mean it’s forged from the shards of Narsil.
I have to say, either this extended scene in which Aragorn tries to be nice and pretend that Eowyn’s soup is edible….
Or the meal that wasn’t. Ya know the part where the hobbits start getting ready for Second Breakfast and Aragorn pretty much shuts them down.
and I love Elevensies. that’s so hilarious to me.
This has proven very difficult, as every place in the movie is pretty impressive even if it is evil, so I’ll go with….The Dead Marshes. I guess that was pretty sucky.
Do I really have to explain myself on this one? Rivendell is hands down, no questions asked, the most beautiful place in the entire series. The scenes in Rivendell are absolutely stunning and I sort of *gasp* every time the sweeping panorams like the one in the photo are featured. (and I almost always, without fail, lean over to whoever is watching the movie with me and say I NEED THIS AS A PUZZLE)
